Amanda Blake
Amanda Blake, born as Beverly Louise Neill, was an incredibly popular American actor. Her most recognizable role was that of Miss Kitty Russell on the TV series 'Gunsmoke.' She was also known for the roles she played in shows on television such as 'The Red Skelton Show,' 'Tattletales,' and The Edge of Night. Additionally, she appeared in many other movies, such as Stars In My Crown, Duchess of Idaho. Cattle Town. Crusoe,?"About Mrs. Leslie",?The Adventures of Hajji Baba, High Society? The Boost The Boost?. An ex-telephone operator, Blake was an avid animal enthusiast. She and her partner Frank Gilbert and she were one of the first humans who successfully bred Cheetahs. American actress Sheila E. Gilbert, was also a co-founder of Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was also a director of the Humane Society of the United States. Blake was awarded numerous awards and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Blake was awarded a Courage Award by the American Cancer Society.
